「you’ve made your bed and you must lie on it」的字面意思“自己鋪的床自己躺”，也就是“自作自受，自食其果”，英文釋義為“used to say that you must accept the results of your actions, even if they are bad”。這個短語用於表示一個人需要為自己的行為承擔後果，和我們之前學的“後果自負”意思一樣。
一起看看例句：He neglected his health and refused to exercise, and now he's dealing with obesity and health issues. He's made his bed and must lie on it.
他忽視瞭健康，拒絕鍛煉，現在他面臨肥胖和健康問題。他自造孽，必須承擔後果。
