Coronavirus Update/ Returning to the Office: AEI now IMEG is in the process of preparing our office for staff to return on a modified schedule, providing the City of Boston re-opening guidelines continue to move forward. During quarantine, AEI now IMEG's staff have successfully worked remotely. Every staff member is equipped with the same equipment at home as they have in the office to ensure efficiency and seamless transitions between workstations. We will continue to work remotely and will provide a formal reopening date when it's available. At this time, only staff will be allowed in our space. Our contact information and policies on in person meetings and site visits remain the same as they have since early March. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.

British Airways First Class Lounge, Logan International Airport, East Boston, Mass.

AEI provided MEP/FP engineering for the fit-out of shell space in the new Terminal E for use by British Airways as a first class passenger lounge. This project ran concurrently with the design of the new Lufthansa Lounge as well as the Terminal E base building upgrade. Many of the tenant amenities required the design team to coordinate with the activities of the base building team, including supplemental cooling and exhaust for the full commercial kitchen, penetrations for waste piping for the horseshoe bar, new lounge systems, and rooftop remote refrigeration condensing units. A two-inch raised floor system below the lounge provided a raceway for power and data cabling that supplied the rack-supported AV System for lounge-wide audio and multiple video screens including a 2x3 video wall. The project and all as-built documentation was fully modeled in Revit and integrated with the base building models. AEI represented British Airways’ interests in joint meetings with Massport and the Terminal E design team to ensure all tenant needs were met. AEI completed both lounge projects with no negative impact to either client.
