Prospect Hill Academy Charter High School, Cambridge, Mass.

An innovative de-humidification/make-up mechanical system ensures interior comfort throughout the year while realizing substantial operating costs savings.

Prospect Hill Academy is an urban charter high school operating out of a 40,000 SF former archdiocese building. The $6.5M renovation involved MEP/FP upgrades that resulted in a new accessible elevator; new HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems; lighting and power upgrades to the public and classroom areas; and new electric service. Designed to C149 sub-bid requirements, the mechanical system was designed with innovative de-humidification/make-up air to preserve interior comfort throughout the school year while realizing substantial operating costs savings.
