University of Massachusetts Morrill Hall Geoscience Building, Amherst, Mass.

AEI performed mechanical and electrical engineering in five spaces of the Morrill complex, which included conversion of a teaching lab to a 50-person fixed seat lecture hall and renovation of four research labs for use as teaching lab spaces. An independent HVAC system was designed to meet the increased ventilation requirements of the lecture hall.  Changes required retrofit of the existing sprinkler and fire alarm systems in the building. The work was completed in an occupied building and required careful phasing to maintain building occupancy.
